August 20, 2017 - Let’s Grow Up - Galatians 4:8-20

  • We need to recognize that there are evil forces operating in the world, and we must be cautious against them. The power to overcome these forces belongs to every Christian.
  • We so desire power and are so attracted to any promise to control our destiny that we are tempted to take that power from wherever it is available. So we substitute all sorts of gods for God.
  • The Gospel must be seen in the person seeking to communicate it.
  • Limitations don’t have to limit.
  • In the power of the person and the personal, love can be tough and integrity can be preserved.
    • Two pitfalls –
      • A tolerance that makes no demands and reaps no harvest.
      • A rigid intolerance that insists on “my way or the highway”.
      • What is needed is a wide-reaching, all-embracing approach to Christianity which holds firmly to the central tenets of the Gospel.
  • Personal Christian maturity comes as Christ is formed in us.
