Main Question
Can we meet death head-on with the confidence that we aren’t death’s victims but death’s victors?
- The two extremes people go to when they talk about death.
- Some say “death is nothing”, even calling it “beautiful”.
- Some say “death is everything”, making too much of it.
- Jesus Christ offers people a faith that enables them to acknowledge the reality of death and at the same time to insist upon the victory of life – life in and through Him.
- These people of faith have the assurance that enables them to say something to death.
- Three views of death –
- Death as we see it in the experience of Jesus.
- Death as we face it in our own human experience.
- Death is overcome and swept away through the resurrection of the body.
- “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” You can say that to death – if you have Christ!
