- In the economy of the Kingdom of God all persons are of equal value.
- The Gospel is relevant to all. It can and should be made original to every racial, cultural, and national setting.
- It is necessary in the complex cultural situation of our day for the church to “fit” the people she seeks to reach culturally.
- The early Christians realized that “man does not live by bread alone”, but they also recognized that he/she doesn’t live without bread. We must always remember the poor.
- It isn’t easy to resist the pressures of our peers, or to go against the cultural customs and values of the community in which we live.
- Conflict can only be resolved in face-to- face encounter. No positive outcome is ever achieved by “behind the back” accusations.
- All of us are potential victims of the pressures that would deceive, lead astray and weaken our witness.
Three Key Words in Verse 16 –- Law
- For the Jews obedience to the Law made one in right relationship to God and therefore acceptable to God.
- Justification
- To be justified means that as sinners we are “acquitted”, “accepted”, “set right with God”, and “saved” in spite of our sin.
- Faith
- Faith is a personal decision and commitment.
