February 21, 2016 - Remembering the Father’s House (A Parable of Grace Series) - Luke 15:14-19

  • There is more than one way to be distant from the Father.
  • The prodigal wasn’t careful in his lifestyle in the distant country.
  • To be at home with God the Father means to spend our days glorifying and enjoying God.
We wander away from that joy when we assume life is a challenge to be achieved on our own, rather than a grace to be received from God.
  • When we are spent, out of resources, and confused, the Holy Spirit reminds us of the Father’s house, and then we remember who we really are.
  • At the core of your identity is heaven’s proclamation that you are the beloved of God.  That is who you are.
  • We enjoy God by enjoying the life He gives us.
  • When it comes to the grace of the Father, there is no deal to be made.  There is just grace.  Of course, we do not deserve grace, but that is why it is called grace.  It simply flows out of the heart of the Father.
  • For joy, you have to work out of love for the Father.
